Interview with Roland Dupree (ca. 22 min.) / Dupree recalls how he began to study tap dancing in Fall River, Mass., at age 10, and his experiences as a child performer in Hollywood, beginning at age 12. He reminisces about his studies in Hollywood with Ethel Meglin and others, auditions, and working with Danny Dare on the show Meet the people. He describes the qualities that make a great dancer, and the importance of the performer's relationship with the audience. He recalls how his teaching engagements gradually grew into a dance school, analyzes the steps in the process of producing a show, and contrasts film and television as media for dance.
Interview with Louis DaPron (ca. 10 min.) / Interviewed in the studio with Roland Dupree, who worked under him as a student and dancer, Louis DaPron discusses his experiences as a dance director and teacher. He teaches a routine to Dupree, and the two discuss the demands of a dance career, past and present.
