DescriptionLecture on the origins and symbolism of the goddess known as Tara to the Tibetans, focusing on her role as an archetype of feminine wisdom and compassion. Prema Dasara outlines the mind-training practices associated with her, which she taught in Tibet Week workshops culminating in the performance called The 21 praises of Tara (see *MGZIC 9-5040 Tibet Week. The 21 praises of Tara). She also discusses the allegorical meaning of the eponymous heroine of Sukyi Nima, the full-length Tibetan folk opera presented during Tibet Week (see *MGZIC 9-5041 Tibet Week. Sukyi Nima).
