Hanya Holm speaks with Theodora Wiesner about her teaching career in the United States beginning with the school created under the auspices of Sol Hurok; performing lecture-demonstrations on the so-called gymnasium circuit; the Bennington College Summer School of the Dance; teaching at Colorado College; the students; her work in musical comedies; [ends abruptly but continues on streaming audio file 2].
Content: Streaming audio file 2 (23 minutes). Hanya Holm continues to speak about her work in musical comedy; her work in opera and on the film, The vagabond king (1956); the problem with too much emphasis on technique; the principles behind her teaching and what she looks for in her students.
