Records of the New York Public Library Architect consist primarily of floor plans, architectural drawings and engineering drawings for the following buildings: Central Building, Lincoln Center and Library, Astor Library, Lenox Library, Tilden Library (proposed), Annex Building, Mid-Manhattan Branch Library, and Jefferson Market Branch Library. Records for Central Building include 100 Carrere & Hastings drawings and Laning mural drawings.
Biographical/historical: The Library has usually had an architect on staff to coordinate construction projects and building renovations. This individual has also had custody of the architectural drawings created by the Library or by outside architectural firms.
